Big Woop! Grenache Shiraz Petit Verdot 08 21 July 2010

Don’t laugh at the name or the packaging, this is serious wine in frivolous clothes. There’s a nice hit of violets from the Petit Verdot, raspberry and spice from the Grenache and a smoky depth from the Shiraz on the nose. The palate has a nice balance between sweet fruit and savoury spice, and there’s good depth without this being a heavy monster. The perfect light-hearted way to warm up a cold night, and given that it comes in a larger 1L format, it’s awesome value!
