Alexander Dusty Road Pinot Noir

Country / Region: Wairarapa
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2016

Lighter but still savoury and approachable Martinborough Pinot without the Martinborough price tag.

Dusty Road is the second tier from Alexander Estate in Martinborough, but is very well made in an easy drinking style. It i handpicked fruit from their home vineyard, and is ages for 10 months in French oak barriques.

Pale ruby in colour, aromas of violet, milk chocolate, and baked cherries. Delicate in texture but surprising length on the palate. Being 6 years old some of the primary fruit has given way to more secondary characters like earth, portobello mushrooms and spice. Smooth, moreish and great value.
