Ata Rangi Celebre

Country / Region: Wairarapa

Rhone Meets Bordeaux' blend from Ata Rangi.

An unusual blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Syrah and 10% Cabernet makes it a Bordeaux style blend with a twist.

Tasting notes

13 December 2013 by Katie Hutton

Gorgeously plump, vivacious Merlot and sweet, spicy Syrah are given backbone and the promise of longevity by the judicious inclusion of darker and more reserved, old-vines Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas and flavours run the gamut from plum, blackberry and dark chocolate to hints of licorice,star-anise and black olive. The wine is tight, yet succulent and juicy
