Cave de Tain Hermitage Gambert de Loche

$150.00 $127.50
Country / Region: France
Vineyard: Cave de Tain
Varietal: Syrah
Vintage: 2006

Rare, fine, pre-aged Hermitage Syrah from the Northern Rhone

AOC Hermitage

The hallmark wine of the region, demonstrating Syrah’s finesse, complexity, and longevity.  This wine bears the name as a tribute to Cave de Tain’s founder, less than 6,000 bottles produced.

Tasting:

Exceptionally deep, but soft and complex. Subtle nose of black fruits, toasty notes, developping to black chocolate and peppery.  Palate is rich and savoury with black currant, hazelnut, cloves, stunning round tannins, a concentrated and young wine - one for the cellar.

Terrior:

Granite terraces on the western edge of the Hermitage hillsides, and fluvio alluvial soils on the Eastern edge.

Winemaking:

Long and classic vatting for a perfect flavour extraction. The "warm" wine is then run off directly into the finest French oak barrels and aged  for 16 months.

Drink now through 2026.
