Chasing Harvest Pinot Noir

This deep ruby Pinot Noir has an earthy bouquet of tagine spice, plums and dark cherries. On the palate dark cherry, spice and savoriness is in harmony with floral, mineral notes. The result a well-balanced plush wine with an elegant texture and long finish.

The Pinot Noir is a blend of two vineyards the first along the famed Felton Road in Bannockburn and the second from a southerly sub-region of Alexandra.

The grapes were handpicked and fermented in traditional open-top fermenters. A fraction of whole cluster grapes then added and moderately long maceration were employed. The wine was then gently pressed, and racked to French Burgundy barrels. After 1 year in barrels the two different wines were blended. The Bannockburn based wine gives the dark cherry, savory punch while the Alexandra wine gives the elegant, floral tones.
