Chateau Pedesclaux Pauillac

Country / Region: France
Vineyard: Chateau Pedesclaux
Varietal: Cabernet Merlot
Vintage: 2014

Fifth Growth Cru Classe Bordeaux from Pauillac.

Pauillac is home to the most prestigious and age worthy Bordeaux - packed with brooding black fruit with bright ripe berries, liquorice, cigar box and cedar.

Chateau Pedesclaux was established in 1810 and awarded the "Fifth Growth" Cru Classe in the 1855 Classification of Bordeaux.  Well situated in front of Mouton-Rothschild and thoroughly renovated in 2009, considered one of the best value of the 'Cru' estates. The 2014 vintage for Bordeaux is sandwiched between the poor 2013 year that suffered cooler & wet conditions, but followed by the hot & dry 2015 that will likely be a bigger wine.

53% Cabernet Sauvignon & 47% Merlot. Cellar for 2-10 years for best results.

93-94 Points, James Suckling- "Amazing quality for here. Best wine ever. Superb balance of fruit and ripe tannins with velvety texture, yet this is tightly grained and luscious. What length"

92 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate- " The 2014 Pédesclaux has a tightly wound bouquet with redcurrant and crushed strawberry fruit, cedar and cigar box aromas filtering through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, plenty of black fruit laced with cedar and black pepper."
