Domain Road Pinot Noir

$45.00 $38.00
$36.00 / unit (case of 12)
Country / Region: Otago
Vineyard: Domain Road
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2013

Classic Pinot from Bannockburn, dark cherry and spice.

The tiny settlement of Bannockburn was once a bustling gold rush town in the 1860s, owner Graeme Crosbie's great grandfather having built up gold dredges in the region. In 2002 Graeme and wife Gillian converted an apricot orchard into vineyards next to the Bannockburn camping ground, with an additional plot next to the Felton Road vineyard.

The 2013 vintage is hand picked, fully destemmed, and wild fermented before 10 months of aging in French barriques - bottled unfined (incidentally this makes it a vegan-friendly wine, though this isn't the main reason!)

Bright ruby colour, aromas of red and black cherry, dried herbs with subtle oak-derived vanilla. Vibrant in the mouth, berries and cherries mingling with leather and spice.
