Brilliant new Hawkes Bay Syrah

Guillaume Thomas and wife Esther have established a tiny vineyard and winery in Hastings of just 0.8 hectares of land between the Tuki Tuki and the coast.  This is planted in Syrah, Cab Sav. Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc - the latter two being varieties originally from Guillaume's home region of the Loire Valley in France.

Deep black at the core, purple to the rim, meaty aromas along with blackberry and black pepper, vibrant up front with plenty of dark fruit, savoury herbs, violets and pleasing leathery tannins on the finish and ample French oak rounding it out.
