Declassified Cru Classe Sauternes - beautiful & classic example

When the top houses have fruit that doesn't quite make the grade for their top tier wines, it gets declassified to the negociant houses. This is made and bottled at the original estate Chateau Guiraud (Premier Grand Cru Classe) and has most of what you'd expect from a Sauternes at 5 times the price. Oodles of bitter orange peel, tart grapefruit marmalade, exotic tropical fruit with a wave of sweet honey but a dry finish.
