Country / Region: France
Vineyard: Olivier Leflaive
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Vintage: 2013

Classic Red Burgundy from famous producer Olivier Leflaive,

Among 330 different communes in Burgundy, the Cote de Beaunes Village appellation is limited to just 16 different villages, with stubby short vines packed in rows just one meter apart, and each vine one meter from the next. The density of planting forces vines to compete with each other for water and nutrients to produce a smaller volume of high quality fruit.

100% Pinot Noir, hand-picked and 30% whole-bunch, matured in barrel (15% new), lightly filtered but un-fined to give full texture and mouth-feel (also makes this vegan-friendly wine).  Aromas of wild raspberry, fresh mushrooms and old forest, savoury on the palate with gentle dry tannins. Drink now or cellar for another 1-3 years.
