Country / Region: Spain
Vineyard: Dominio de Punctum
Varietal: Tempranillo

Organic Wine, easy quaffing Spanish Tempranillo.

The Pablo Claro Tempranillo comes from Las Pedroneras within the large central Spanish region of La Mancha.  Relatively high elevation of 750 meters means cooler temperatures than the sun-baked plains lower down - but means more gradual ripening of the fruit.

Bright cherry coloured, berries, cherry and vanilla flavours with a dose of spice on the finish - an easy quaffer to enjoy now rather than lurk in the cellar.

Tasting notes

16 June 2014 by Katie Merrie

Fleshy, dark and fruit-driven nose exhibiting lots of bramble, dark cherry, boysenberry and vanilla, with some darker spices surfacing periodically.  The palate is dry and juicy with more dark fruits such as black doris plum, blackberry and maybe even a hint of tangy rhubarb on the finish.  A subtle blend of warm sweet spices and delicate savoury herbals add interest.
