Taittinger Prelude Grand Cru
Taittinger is the largest family-owned Champagne house, with a strong reputation for producing consistently high quality Champagnes. The "Prelude" is their Grand Cru wine, two steps up from the normal Brut Reserve, made exclusively from Grand Cru vineyard sites. The perfect blend of 50/50 Chardonnay & Pinot Noir, matured on lees for an impressive 5-years (four years longer than the minimum standard for Champagne). The favourite in our Champagne tastings this year, bright fresh citrus up front with round rich texture, more than a touch of toasty brioche.
Rated in the Top 10 Champagnes over $100 by Cuisine Magazine (alongside Krug and Dom Perignon at three times the price), and the Top Champagne of the year by Dish Magazine.
