Aromas of baked plum pie, cinnamon and a floral lift. Medium bodied featuring waves of sweet berry fruit on the palate with a slightly woody dry finish.

Langhorn Creek is an hour's drive from Adeleide, and simultaneously an old yet young wine region, one of Australia's oldest dating back to the mid-1800s. That said, the region in the early 1990s hosted just 400 hectares of vines, which has since exploded to over 6,000 hectares with investment a mix of huge multinationals along with small boutique family producers. Red wine country, with Shiraz and Cabernet making up 70% of plantings.

Legend has it King John was was due to visit the village of Gotham England (~1200AD). To avoid the huge expense of hosting the royal entourage royal messengers found the 'wise men' engaged in ridiculous tasks such as trying to drown an eel, and joining hands around a thorn bush to shut in a cuckoo. The king, wisely, decided to stay elsewhere.  The Wine Men are clearly not to be taken too seriously, producing a range of wines squarely targeted at the inexpensive and easy drinking end of the spectrum.
