Cool fermented in steel, to produce a crisp and early picked to produce a lower alcohol wine (11.5%) It's organic too, and won gold at the prestigious German 'Mundus Vini' wine awards.  Loads of ripe Beurre Bosc pears and jasmine on the nose, quite fruity on the palate, a rich oily texture, good length and persistence of flavour.

Some 85% of Pinot Grigio produced in Italy is grown in the North-East of the country especially in the region of Friuli, Venezia, and Veneto regions. The cooler climate of that region lends itself well to the "Grigio" style, lighter, crisper, and drier than the French styles that are traditionally fatter, fruitier, and more honeyed.

This example though comes from Sicily, a warmer climate forcing the growers to pick the grapes early to maintain acidity and lower sugars.
