Bishops Head Pinot Gris

Bishops Head Pinot Gris

Fully barrel-fermented in 20% new oak with indigenous yeasts to 13.0% alc. and 5.6 g/L RS, the wine aged 10 months on lees with approx. 5% MLF. Bright, light golden straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a full, soft and broad nose with harmoniously integrated aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits, nuts, creamy barrel-ferment notes, and florals that build in depth and interest with aeration. Dry to taste, the palate has weight and presence with a deep and interwoven amalgam of stonefruit and nutty flavours, along with honied and creamy complexities expressed with a soft restraint. The mouthfeel is rich, fulsome and rounded in texture and the wine has an underlying phenolic core and good acidity providing drive and structure. There is density and a solidness that is carried to a long finish with toasty nuances. This is a full, solid and harmonious dry Pinot Gris with complex stonefruit, nutty and creamy oaking. Match with poultry, pork and Mediterranean inspired cuisine over the next 3-4 years
