Mt Erin is our latest 'find' in the Hawkes Bay in the coveted Bridge Pa Triangle. This sub-region of 2,000 hectares to the South of the Gimblett Gravels boasts the largest concentration of vineyards in Hawkes Bay, with red-metal alluvial soils with underlying pumice from the Taupo volcanic eruptions- and happens to be excellent for growing Merlot.

Mt Erin is created by more widely known Abbey Cellars, a family winery with a sleek cellar door inspired by gothic cathedrals and abbeys of years gone by. The wines are great sippers, and the Mt Erin range in particular meets the right price point for mid-week wine.
