The Winter cold snap is setting in and skiing holidays are kicking off, so we’ve got together a collection of our favourite winter warmer wines. Plus here's an easy recipe for making mulled wine for a cosy and comforting after work / après-ski drink:
2 bottles of dry red wine (garnacha/merlot/cabernet sauvignon would be perfect),1 vanilla pod, 2 cinnamon sticks, 4 cloves, 1 nutmeg grated, 2 star anise, 1 bay leaf, ¼ cup brandy, 1 tablespoon allspice, 200g sugar, peel of a lemon,orange segments for garnish.
Heat in a pot over a low heat. Strain before serving .Serve with a cosy blanket in front of the fire
