Alpha Crucis Shiraz
Alpha Crucis is the brightest star in the Southern Cross constellation.
Alpha Crucis wines are an extension of this. Aspiring to be the best and brightest wines from our vineyard, they are only released in years that satisfy our uncompromising principles of quality and integrity.
A beautifully vibrant Shiraz with fruit sourced from the Heritage Block vineyard and Hickingbotham vineyard in Clarendon. Complex with wonderful red and dark fruit flavours combining with spice and dark chocolate. The finish is long and persistent with fine tannins coating the mouth.
The fruit was hand harvested. After going through a 10 day fermentation on skins, it was transferred to a combination of new, 2nd and 3rd use French oak barrels, of which 15% were new. It spent 15 months in barrel prior to blending.
Ageing Potential
Will reward cellaring for 10 years or more.
