Medium sweet Riesling made in the 'classic' style.

Orange blossoms and peach characters on the nose.  The palate has concentrated and rich citrus flavours of tangarine and mandarin and good palate weight and texture.  It finishes clean and crisp with good acidity.

All Carrick Rieslings are hand harvested, and picked early to preserve the powerful floral aromatics and bright citrus acidity which are characteristic of Central Otago. The grapes for this wine come solely from our BioGro certified organic, Lot 8 block. The wine has been whole bunch pressed and fermented by wild yeasts.

Tasting Note

A lively bright floral nose with orange blossom and peach characters. There is an immediate intensity to this wine that is powerful yet at the same time clean and balanced. This intense weight and texture lingers in the mouth and slowly reveals bright juicy mandarin characters that increase into concentrated tangerine flesh flavours. The low alcohol content makes this a perfect lunch time wine or an evening aperitif accompanied with cheese and simple poached fruit. This wine will age far into the future.
