Chateau Crabitey Graves Rouge
A new import of ours, Chateau Crabitey is one of the flagship estates of the Graves appellation. The estate belonged to a religious commune from 1872 operated as a full vineyard. In 1985, the nuns called on Jean-Ralph de Butler to bring the vineyard up to professional standards. The Butler family took over the vineyards from the nuns in 1992 and it has been in the family every since. Average age of the vines are 30 years.
The 2015 vintage is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Full bodied blend from Graves.
A profound, brilliant garnet hue with deep purple tints, this wine reveals a powerful bouquet with blackberry, black cherry and spice aromas. The fleshy palate is underpinned by well-integrated, creamy tannins. Expert ageing has conserved all the fruitiness, freshness and minerality of this easy-to-drink but elegant vintage. A perfectly balanced wine rounded off by a long, smooth and fruity finish.
It can be drunk now but will benefit with another 2 to 5 years.
