Chateau Les Rambauds Malbec
In the Bordeaux wine region it is grown primarily as a minor blending grape, making up less than 1% of the red grapes produced here (not dissimilar fo New Zealand). Argentina now grows 5 times more Malbec than France. That makes this wine something of a rarity - a 100% Malbec from Bordeaux.
100% Malbec, fermented at moderate temperature (28C) with pumpovers and a short maceration to ensure extraction of brighter fruit characters to balance the rustic tannins, bottled without oak aging.
Deep red and almost black core, Brooding aromas of blackberry, irises, tumeric and baked plum. Fully dry on the palate with dark fruits, bay leaf, dusty and grippy mouth filling tannins begging for a hearty stew to go with it.
