Cottier Merlot Cabernet
A savoury Bordeaux style blend from a Gladstone winery, with fruit sourced from Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
The parcels of selected fruit were then processed using traditional vinification methods – comprising wild and premium yeasts, left on their skins for three weeks and plunged daily, before being pressed and progressing to French barrels to age for ten months. 55% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Bordeaux-esque in style, sporting roasted black plum, toasted brown bread, and a touch of anise. Savoury and grippy even after 5 years of age, with a lick of old leather and boot polish.
