This is a wine of richness and an abundance of black fruit flavours and a long structured finish. Te Kahu means 'the cloak' in te reo Maori and refers to the mist that envelops Giants Winery in the Tukituki Valley.
Legend has it that this mist was used to protect a mythical Maori maiden from the sun as she visited her lover Te Mata.

Jamie Goode - 92 points
"Merlot dominant blend with some Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. Fresh and focused with a lovely gravelly edge to the lovely expressive red and black fruits. It's really assured and harmonious with mid weight fruit working in harmony with the structure."
