Top end Bandol Red - the ultimate Red wine from Provence.

Domaine La Suffrene is a high quality family vineyard and winery in the treasured appellation of Bandol. This small region is famous for both red and rose wines, a small 1500 hectare region of the French Mediterranean coast.  Dominated by the Mourvedre grape ideally suited to the hot and dry stony soils. Bold, earthy, spicy and mineral, Bandol wines are some of the very best that Provence has to offer.

90% Mourvedre, 10% Old Vine Carignan. Partially de-stemmed, fermented in concrete vats before racking in a mixture of new and old oak for 21 months. Unfiltered & unfined.

Flagship of the estate from a single 1 ha portion of a single South-facing hillside.  Deep purple/black colour with powerful aromas of dark ripe berries and spice. Very full body and powerful length with fine grained tannins and minerality.
