Geographico Contessa di Radda Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
Made from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Colorino. Matured in 50% large casks and 50% small barriques for a minimum of 18 months.
Chianti Classico Contessa di Radda was found in 1978 and named after Countess Willa of Tuscany, mother of the famous Marquis Ugo of Tuscany. The village of Radda in Chianti appeared in numerous documents of the Abbey of Santa Maria in, and for that reason her face was chosen to be on one of most emblematic labels of the Chianti Classico.
Dark ruby colour, fading red towards the rim. Rich aromas of ripe strawberries, plums, and cherries hitting the nose straight away supported by hints of mint that adds a slight freshness to the nose. Good body gives a strong first impression, firm tannin followed by a delicate but present acidity maintains the character of the wine. Blackcurrant on a palate. Clean persistent finish with touch of cranberry and wood.
