Spade Oak The Prospect Pinot Gris
Winemaker Notes
A sumptuous blend of Gisborne Pinot Gris 457 and M2 clones from the Ashwood vineyard on Back Ormond Road made by Steve Voysey. These clones are sourced from Italy and France. The M2 is barrel fermented and the 457 is stop fermented to create a drier style of Pinot Gris that still delivers the drinkability and food matching ease of Pinot Grigio. It is a complex, textural wine with soft acidity and openess that only barrel fermentation allows.
Colour: Pale golden yellow shot with bronze tints on the rim.
Aromas: A hint of vanilla, almond and creamy poached pear. Hint of red apple.
Palate: A clean green yellow apple freshness with the "wild scrumpy" cider acid finish that lingers beautifully.
