Smooth & rich classic Rioja.

Deep ruby colour, cherry and blackberry jam on the nose combining with clear oaky notes of toasted vanilla and cinnamon. Good richness in the mouth, with ample body and smooth mouth feel complementing the fruit. Persistent finish with spicy tannins.

100% Tempranillo. Steel ferment before 12 months aging in mildly toasted American & French oak. Unfiltered.

From Ribera del Duero - Tempranillo blended with a little Merlot

Cair is an ultra-modern winery in with old vineyards in the exceptional Ribera del Duero wine region. Owning 24 hectares of vines and controlling another 70 hectares in the region, an average age of 45 year old vines with many reaching over 100 years old. Using organic methods and yields are strictly managed vine by vine.

Dark ruby colour, aromas of cinnamon, lavender and black cherry. Good fruit up front, the merlot softening the spicy tannins.

Deep leathery & chocolatey Tempranillo from Toro

The Toro appellation is one of the more prestigious wine regions in Northern Spain. Here is a combination of an arid continental climate with massive of sunshine during the growing season. The soils are ideal for quality wine production - a stony topsoil with a alayer of clay underneath to retain moisture in the otherwise parched conditions. The sharp drop in temperatures during the night slow down the ripening of the fruit and build a concentration and complexity of flavours, perhaps one of the reasons why the wines from this region were granted royal privileges during the Middle Ages.

'Toro' is all about one grape variety - "Tinta de Toro" - a particular type of Tempranillo with strict conditions on maximum yields. There are 1,000 differeng vine growers in the region, with a combined area of 5,500 hectares. 

Finca Sobreno Reserva is 100% Tempranillo, matured half in new oak, the other half in 1-year old oak. 90% American oak and 10% French oak. Aromas of bitter dark chocolate, olives, vanilla and clove. Full flavoured and full bodied, driven by chocolate truffles, prunes, boysenberry, with dusty and leathery dry tannins. Drink now or cellar with confidence for up to 5 years.
