Veuve Doussot Champagne Tradition Demi-Sec-Wine-Wineseeker

Veuve Doussot Champagne Tradition Demi-Sec

Fine, lively perlage, a luscious Champagne of the sweeter style.

Being a combination of 85% Pinot noir and 15% Chardonnay, this Champagne has a straw yellow colour, tinged with copper highlights. Being a demi-sec, the palate is brimming with honeyed orchard fruit characters, layered with a suggestion of yeasty toastiness.

Alcohol: 12.5%
Bottle Size: 75cl
Vegetarian: Yes (not certified)
Vegan: Yes (not certified)
Drink With: Blue cheese, a terrine of foie gras or a fruit tartlet

The Joly family have been vine growers for generations in the Aube region of Champagne and their know-how has been put to great use here.

This is one of our imports, a proper Champagne from a small, family owned estate.

Veuve Doussot is located at Noé-les-Mallets, a charming village in the heart of the Côte-des-Bar district. This area is closer in distance to Chablis than to the centre of the Champagne region, with a warmer microclimate ideal for Pinot Noir.  The soils of Veuve Doussot are rich with both clay and Kimmeridgian limestone, less of the chalky soils found further North.  Small family producer of 50 years on this estate.
