Maison Noire Rose

Country / Region: Hawkes Bay
Vineyard: Maison Noire
Varietal: Cabernet Franc
Vintage: 2017

French style of dry and pale Rose produced in Hawkes Bay from Cabernet Franc

Rose in NZ is often bright, fruity and a bit sweet, but there is a definite trend towards the crisper, drier and paler style that France has been famous for. This version is inspired by the wines of the Loire Valley in France where Cabernet Franc reigns as the main red grape. Aromas of wild berries, crisp & dry and salty - very versatile food wine and low alcohol too at just 11.5%.

Delicate nose of wild strawberry, blueberry, with hints of earthy spice. Lively up front with watermelon, lemon and bitter Provence herbs, ever so slightly chalky mineral finish.
