Light and fresh local Pinot Noir Rose

Pond Paddock was first established in 2000 'out the back' of Martinborough - Te Muna Road is a sub region behind the golf course on an older river terrace, with slightly different soils and micro climate compared to the rest of Martinborough.  Swiss owner Daniele Alemagna and Italian winemaker Simone have paired together 100% Abel clone Pinot Noir to make a bespoke Rose.

Given four hours skin contact to give the pale strawberry colour, fermented with natural yeasts and unusually for Rose 20% in seasoned French oak to round out and soften the wine. Aromas of red cherry and strawberry pie, definitely a lighter style on the palate with fresh summer fruits with a deceptively long dry and mineral finish.
